Female identity has been under fire for quite some time now. With ever changing roles, the onslaught of social media and the obliteration of the ‘having it all’ myth, women can benefit from depth psychotherapy now more than ever.

Pregnancy loss – the loneliest grief

Social media was alive last week with the graphic images of a mother whale carrying her dead calf, as she grieved the loss of her baby. In contrast to that public display, we still have a long way to go in our society, when it comes to supporting women who lose babies.

What’s left after the empty nest?

Although the focus at the time is more on those that have flown the nest – those young adults so familiar to us – many mothers also describe it as a huge shake up of their identity, with a lot of unanswered questions around what’s next.
